David Dundas Music Ltd

Having written jingles for Capital Radio in the 70's, David Dundas wrote a song for a Brutus  jeans commercial that spawned the hit single "Jeans On" released in 1977. It climbed to No.3 in the UK and Australian charts, made No.1 in Germany and went on to sell over a million copies worldwide.

After releasing a couple of albums, he continued writing music for TV and Film as well as writing songs for other artists. During the 80's, David was responsible for many iconic soundtracks including the original Channel Four ident which introduced every programme on the channel for over fourteen years in one form or another, two idents for LWT and ITV as well as ads for 7up (featuring a sketchy Fido Dido), Pepsi (featuring Tina Turner), Simple Soap (Gild the Lily) as well as being a go-to composer throughout the 90's for global ad campaigns for American Airlines, Hersheys, Hardy's, Guinness, JC Penney, McDonald's and countless others.

His film credits include the Soundtracks for cult film "Withnail & I" and "How to Get Ahead in Advertising".

When I joined the company in 91, my first mix was a Fido Dido ad swiftly followed by the recording and mixing of the idents for the launch of the BBC's World Service TV and Prime Channels.

Whilst working at the company, I also got the opportunity to work with, and learn production and arranging from other composers on the roster, at various times working with Rick Wentworth, Mark Russell, Nick Ingman and current Hollywood favourite Rupert Gregson-Williams.
